Alb OPINION
Ing. Radko LOUČKA, CSc. Labor is the author of "Herding the dog - methodological manual training, which was issued by SCHOK in CR, Brno in 2008. Publication has a range of 88 pages. The text is a series of schematic drawings and visual Annex 16 have good methodological color photographs.
Canine literature in our country every year gives quite a lot. Often dominate the work of foreign authors oriented mainly on the popular and summarily characteristics of breeding dogs. Growing interest in dog breeding is also a need for breeding new breeds. Not all breeds, however, have direct economic recovery and are bred for work and targeted assistance to man. Most breeds, however, such use is allowed. This is evidenced by the fact that there is still a greater number of dogs and are kept in large cities. Here then performs primarily a social function, or therapeutic.
However, many breeds of dogs bred for direct assistance to man. In this respect they have from time immemorial dogs used for hunting and guarding the grazing herds. The dog is in grazing currently indispensable help farmers. The shepherds and shepherd dogs especially true.
To work with the herd to fit several breeds, or even dogs whose origins nepyšní long, or famous pedigree. In fact it is not always decisive. Decisive, however, is that the dog was to do the job well trained. Train a dog to work with the herd is not easy. It requires patience, especially from farmers, self-discipline, consistency, character balance, love of the animal and of course the knowledge of how to proceed in training. It takes a lot to the dog must acquire. It takes a lot of what the farmer should know.
Therefore it is very useful, that our leading expert on breeding and training dogs shepherd Ing. Radko LOUČKA, CSc. summarized in a publication "Herding the dog ..." her experience and knowledge. Their knowledge to formulate a very readable form, in essence, the "methodological guidelines how to proceed in training pastoral dog. The reader will find advice in the publication how to navigate the selection of a puppy has, then the individual developmental stages of the dog, what forms of dog training focus to the work, either in the herd, and the normal, traditional competitions in herding sheep jumping. Parkurové competition have their own characteristics, motivation charm and therefore will likely gain increasing popularity among farmers and popularity among audiences. The competitions are easier organisable, compared to "classical flock competitions in the use of shepherd dogs" in which competition would be available at least two 200 piece balanced herd of sheep. This requirement is not in our present difficult reachable. Parkurové competition can be organized on the field předvádištích, exhibitions, limited free areas with a small group of sheep or other livestock.
Our breeders and lovers of dogs gets into the hands of a very valuable practical tool. Specialist knowledge to the author Ing. R. LOUČKY, CSc. is based on the fact that it pays systematic breeding dogs since his childhood. Originally bred long-haired collie, the Czech mountain dogs, and since 1993, border collie. He was one of the first border collies breeders in this country and even the first who started the breed used for herding sheep. He became an enthusiastic promoter of this breed. He is credited with organizing competitions in the recovery operation shepherd dogs. Maintain records of all tests carried out in herding with us and our Republic is represented by the International Commission for the FCI in Brussels. As Chairman of the arbitration Cynology unity CR for herding. His erudition and use of the training activities and work in SCHOK in CR.
I believe that in a "Herding with dog - methodological manual training" will find every farmer, especially shepherd dogs, and plenty of useful advice for his work with the dog and its training. I wish a lot of breeding success and happiness in training shepherd dogs, which is unthinkable without the work of the herd of sheep.
